Starting July 1, passengers aboard British Airways flights enjoy a new option on the wine list. British Airways launched its own English sparkling wine in celebration of its centennial. The British Airways team worked with Hattingley Valley to create a 2015 Blanc de Noir, exclusively available on flights this summer. The blend was created with high altitude in mind and harvested and bottled in Hampshire.
In addition to availability in the first-class cabin, the wine is also available at The Concorde Room in Heathrow Airport Terminal 5.
“There’s no better, or more British way to toast our milestone year than with an English sparkling wine. We’ve loved working with Hattingley Valley to create something really special for our First customers and this will be the first time we have ever served an English sparkling Blanc de Noirs on board. This blend will excel at altitude as the notes of red apple skins and light red fruits really shine through,” said Kelly Stevenson, wine and beverage manager, British Airways.
“English sparkling wine is now incredibly popular around the world so we’re thrilled to have partnered with British Airways to create an exceptional wine that can be enjoyed on the ground and in the air across their network,” added Emma Rice, director and head winemaker, Hattingley Valley.
