As of Feb. 4, British Airways began trialing a new travel health app, VeriFLY, with customers eligible to travel between London and the United States.

The new digital health passport is designed to offer pre-travel peace of mind by ensuring customers meet entry requirements. The app provides a digital health document to verify and confirm the traveler’s eligibility.

British Airways is the first U.K. airline to trial the mobile health passport, and is the only airline outside the United States offering VeriFLY. The trial follows airline alliance partner American Airlines previously announcing customers’ trial use of VeriFLY on selected routes resulted in positive feedback.

The use of the VeriFLY app will be optional and customers can continue to provide the evidence that they meet the entry requirements at check-in. For those interested in participating, VeriFLY can be downloaded to a mobile device via the App Store or Google Play Store. Travelers can create a secure profile and will be prompted to confirm flight information, upload details of a negative COVID-19 test and any other essential information.
