British Airways and Alaska Airlines announced a new codeshare agreement, building on the existing frequent-flyer program partnership the two carriers already have in place.
The codeshare took effect for travel starting Nov. 23. Customers will be able to book connecting flights on Alaska Air routes at ba.com to seven destinations on the West Coast of the United States, and three in Hawai’i:
- From Seattle (SEA) to Honolulu (HNL), Kona (KOA) and Kahului (OGG)
- From Seattle, San Francisco (SFO) and San Jose (SJC) to Portland (PDX)
- From Seattle to Salt Lake City (SLC), Boise (BOI), Fairbanks (FAI) and Spokane (GEG)
- From San Jose to Santa Ana (SNA)
“British Airways and Alaska have been frequent-flyer programme partners for more than 15 years but we are delighted to forge close ties and extend this partnership further. The codeshare will make onward connections to Alaska’s vast network of destinations seamless, from the booking process through to flying and will open up the picturesque beaches of Hawai’i, Salt Lake City’s ski slopes and the tech hub of Santa Ana,” said Alex Cruz, CEO, British Airways.
“Not only will this mean leisure customers have more holiday hotspots to choose from, but this is also fantastic news for business travelers opening up U.S. cities that have previously been more difficult to access from the UK.”
