2022 Spotify Wrapped

by Mary Melnick

Dec 7, 2022

As a subscriber to Spotify, every year I look forward to when Spotify releases listeners’ Spotify Wrapped, a closer look into their listening habits throughout the year. Spotify

The report tells you what your top five most-listened-to artists and songs are as well as your top genre, listening habits, podcasts, how many minutes you’ve listened and much more. It also curates a playlist of your top 100 songs of the year, my favorite part. I haven’t stopped listening to mine since it came out.

When Spotify Wrapped comes out, everyone heads to Instagram to post a screenshot of their top artists and songs. There is always a big debate on social media where some people say the screenshots shouldn’t be posted because no one cares it and others saying they are interested and people should post it. I am among the people interested in seeing others and always post mine. And now I am going to share my results with the readers!

For the most part, I wasn’t surprised, except for one of my top artists. My top five artists in order arespotify

  1. Taylor Swift
  2. Harry Styles
  3. Morgan Wallen
  4. Ed Sheeran
  5. Kanye West

The one I was shocked about was Kanye West. I feel like I listen to his music when it comes up on playlists, but I don’t go out of my way to put on his music. There was no surprise Taylor Swift was my top artist — she has claimed that spot for the past five years.

My top five songs includedspotify

  1. “I Bet You Think About Me” by Taylor Swift
  2. “Famous” by Kanye West
  3. “She’s all i wanna be” by Tate McRae
  4. “Mr. Blue Sky” by Electric Light Orchestra
  5. “As It Was” by Harry Styles

Kanye popped up in my top five songs, as well. I do feel like I listen to that song, but that’s it — I guess I listened more than I thought. The other songs weren’t surprising, though; I love them all, and some are even my go-to songs when I get in a car.

I was so excited when this came out and am already looking forward to next year, but for now I will be listening to my Top Songs 2022 playlist for the foreseeable future.

Pamper Your Passion for Barefoot Luxury in the Seychelles

Imagine a place where the weather is always warm and the sun forever shines upon groves of towering palm trees and unspoiled white-sand beaches, where a vast expanse of turquoise water surrounds you as far as you can see. When I first landed in the Seychelles last spring, I knew I’d discovered a hidden Eden. Known as the Land of Perpetual Summer, the archipelago consists of 115 islands scattered in the western Indian Ocean, north of Madagascar and 1,000 miles east of mainland Africa.

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons —  feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.
