The Boss

IMG_1524-e1472047923631.jpgThe Boss is back in town — and, no, I don’t mean my boss, Fran. The River Tour 2016 marks the first tour in two years for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

The 75-show tour is in support of Springsteen’s 2015 box set,
The Ties That Bind: The River Collection. As soon as Springsteen announces a tour, fans go wild — so good luck trying to get tickets. As soon as they are on sale, they sell out within minutes; and if lady luck is on your side, you have a day or so to purchase yours. The original tour had Springsteen scheduled for one performance in New Jersey, January 31st, but he knew he couldn’t stay away.

He thankfully added three dates in late August to play at MetLife Stadium — August 23rd, IMG_1543-e1472048159174.jpg25th and 30th. As devoted Boss fans, my family and I spent last evening at his concert. My mom and I were lucky enough to score four tickets to not only last night’s show but also tomorrow’s. We contemplated trying for the third show but thought it would be a bit much — especially since my parents saw him at Madison Square Garden back in January.

The show was nothing short of incredible, but what do you expect from The Boss? Springsteen mixed up his songs,

playing some from his new album and some all-time favorites like “The Rising,” “Badlands,” “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out,” “Jungleland” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” — who says we can’t celebrate Christmas in August? The crowd roared as he paid homage to his home state with a set that ended with “Jersey Girl,” a song which he rarely performs, and fireworks lighting up the sky. I can’t wait to see what he has in store tomorrow!
