Actress and voice-over talent Abby Trott has an extensive résumé, including roles in movie franchises including Animaniacs and Transformers and video games such as Transformers. A native of Massachusetts, Trott lived in Japan, New York and Los Angeles while building her career. As her résumé grew, so did her interest in travel.
Because of the various roles, she has a large and varied fanbase, which makes her in high demand at celebrity conventions. Passionate about travel, Trott uses her convention appearances as reasons to travel.

Before delving into travel, Trott discussed the challenges and rewards of voice-over work. The anonymity allows Trott to enjoy travel a bit more than most celebrities. Even at those conventions, she can wander the vendor area while mostly being unrecognized. Learning different voices and recording her lines without the others can be more difficult than performing with scene partners.
Turning to travel, Trott listed her favorite cities and her bucket-list destinations. Already this year she has appeared at comic cons in California, Texas, Alabama, Arizona and Nevada, with plenty more locations on her schedule. Unfortunately, I missed her appearance in Chicago, but I pan on seeing her at Anime 414 in Milwaukee later this year. She discussed the benefits of combining travel with appearances. Not only do conventions expand her travel résumé, appearances grow her fan base.

Oct 23, 2026The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations
The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.

Japan is a destination that rewards repeat visits because no two regions — or seasons — feel quite the same. One moment, you’re wandering through centuries-old geisha districts in Kanazawa. The next, you’re watching neon reflections dance across Tokyo streets long after midnight.

Oct 21, 2026Review: Bodysgallen Hall
The National Trust owns more than 500 historic buildings across the United Kingdom, each offering a vivid sense of its particular era. In common with many visitors, I often find myself wondering what it would be like to actually live in such a place. Imagine sitting, for instance, in one of those ancient oak-paneled drawing rooms at night, with the fire roaring and the wind rattling the ancient mullioned windows. I didn’t have to imagine it. Here I was, immersed in history in 17th-century Bodysgallen Hall in North Wales.
