Last night, I tried spinning class for the first time at my new gym, Doylestown Fitness Center, and as I sit here writing this blog, I am aware of my attendance, as I can feel reminders of the exertion in my legs. Boy, those seats are uncomfortable! I also decided to run two miles this morning, which may not have helped. The class was actually a blast and a great workout, and I hope to add it to my weekly schedule. Consider me hooked. For 60 minutes, we changed our resistance and stood up and sat down at intervals to an eclectic playlist created by our instructor. A few of the songs really pumped me up  and helped me push through the standing inclines. Surprisingly, one of them was Lady Gaga’s new one, “You and I,” which is a ballad-like song but kicked something up in me. The other incredibly cheesy one was Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” which along with psyching me up for spin class also got me thinking about October baseball. All in all, I’m glad I tried spin class, as it was one of those things that I’d always heard so much about but never experienced. — Kimberly Krol, special issues editor, eFlyer USA editor
