The weather this weekend was beautiful, so my husband and I decided to take advantage of the sun with a walk around the nearby Cooper River.
Cooper River Park is a popular outdoor destination in Camden County. A loop of the bike path is just less than 4 miles. We decided to walk the entire loop. Besides people-watching, there is lots to see on the path. The park is home to The Cooper River Yacht Club, LaScala’s Birra, picnic areas, playgrounds, a sculpture garden and Camden County Boathouse.
On Sunday college students from across the country were at Cooper River Park for the Knecht Cup Regatta. Cooper River offers ideal rowing conditions with a straight path and still water. Many prestigious rowing events take place throughout the year. We marveled at the athletes gliding up and down the river — it looked like hard work!
When we returned home, I opened a bottle of wine while my husband grilled steak and salmon for dinner. We enjoyed capping the beautiful day off with a great meal and more sunshine.
