Recommendations for a Rainy NYC Day

by Rebecca Darakhshan

Oct 4, 2023

Hey there! If you’re in the Big Apple this fall, you’ve probably noticed that the rain just won’t quit. But don’t let it get you down; instead, let’s make the most of it with some of my indoor recommendations for a rainy day in NYC.New York

Breakfast at Bubby’s: Start your day at Bubby’s in Tribeca. They serve up some seriously satisfying American comfort food. Think fluffy pancakes, omelets and mouthwatering biscuits — the perfect way to kickstart a rainy day.

Spa Day at Aire Ancient Baths: Next up, treat yourself to a spa day at Aire Ancient Baths in the TriBeCa. Imagine soaking in various thermal baths in dim lighting and indulging in treatments. It’s pure relaxation, rain or shine.

Mini Golf at Swingers Nomad: For a dose of indoor excitement, head to Swingers Nomad. They’ve got a quirky mini-golf course with fun obstacles, with bars at every corner serving drinks and bites!

High Tea at Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon: Keep the elegance going with high tea at Lady Mendl’s Tea Salon within a Georgian brownstone in the heart of Gramercy Park. It’s a classy way to spend a rainy evening.

Dinner at Don Angie: As the evening rolls in, make your way to Don Angie in the West Village. They’re known for their mouthwatering lasagna – a warm and comforting choice for a rainy night.New York

Explore museums: NYC is museum heaven, and rainy days are perfect for some indoor culture. Check out the Whitney Museum, MoMA or the Met. There are countless museums to choose from!

So there you have it, a rainy day game plan to make the most of your time in NYC. Embrace the rain, have some fun indoors! Until next time!

PIT Becomes First Airport Certified for Universal Design

Pittsburgh International Airport has become the first transportation center and airport in the country to be awarded a Universal Design Certification from the University of Buffalo’s Center for Inclusive Design and Environmental Access. The certification recognizes the airport’s human-centered approach to design across the terminal, including strong performance in mobility access, wayfinding, lighting, sensory inclusion and intuitive navigation.

Best of Both Worlds

Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from  Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.

Sun, Sea, Cliffs and Bridges Beckon on the Pacific Coast Highway

On one side, waves breathe in and out across wide stretches of sand or explode against jagged rocks, sending spray shooting into the air. On the other side, the scenery changes: Cliffs rise like walls, vineyards clip past in neat rows, pine trees line the road. Between these, cities give way to small communities with art galleries, local restaurants and shops selling beachwear.

The Rise of Destination Hotels: 3 Luxurious Stays Worth a Visit

Booking a hotel typically comes after picking a destination. Some travelers treat it as a second thought or just a place to sleep. According to vacation platform Wander, however, more travelers are planning trips around a single property or hotel instead of the destination. So, we’ve rounded up three hotels around the world that serve as a destination in and of themselves.

From Bethpage to Adare: Following the Ryder Cup to Ireland

In September 2025, the eyes of the golf world will turn to New York, where Bethpage Black hosts the Ryder Cup. The drama, rivalry and passion of this iconic event will once again capture global attention. But, for golf fans, the story doesn’t end there. In 2027, the Ryder Cup will cross the Atlantic, arriving at one of Europe’s most celebrated courses: Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland.
