Potion Making

If you’re looking for a fun, unique and interactive experience in Philadelphia, The Cauldron is an absolute must-visit. I had the pleasure of booking a visit there recently to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it was a fantastic way to make the occasion even more memorable. The experience cost $52 per person, which included three drinks — one pre-mixed cocktail and two that we got to create ourselves. Each guest was handed a cloak to wear, adding to the magical atmosphere right from the start. As soon as we descended into the enchanted space below, it was clear this was no ordinary bar experience.

The first drink we had was served to us in a whimsical way: poured from a unicorn-shaped head into our glasses. Whether you chose the alcoholic version or went for a mocktail, it was a fun, enchanting way to kick things off. The vibe was lighthearted, and we couldn’t help but smile as we marveled at the unusual presentation. For our two non-drinking guests, The Cauldron thoughtfully provided nonalcoholic substitutions that were just as delicious and exciting as the regular drinks.Philadelphia

What really set The Cauldron apart, though, was the interactive nature of the experience. After the first drink, we moved on to the next two, which we had to decide together. Of course, we let the birthday girl choose what sounded best, and we ended up making concoctions that required us to break down ingredients and pour them into actual cauldrons. It was a hands-on and immersive experience that made us feel like we were mixing potions rather than just sipping cocktails. Everyone had a chance to participate, making it a truly collective and memorable experience.Philadelphia

To top off the fun, we were able to order food to enjoy as we sipped on our creations. The food was delicious and perfect for sharing, adding to the communal vibe of the experience. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking for something different to do with friends, The Cauldron in Philly is an unforgettable adventure. It’s a blend of creativity and camaraderie that makes for an experience you won’t soon forget!

Hotel Van Zandt Review

One step onto Austin’s Rainey Street and you’ll feel like you’ve joined the cool kids at the best playground in the city. Just behind the cottage bars, pint-sized skyscrapers soar. One of them, Hotel Van Zandt, the Rainey district's pièce de resistance, beckons with a song-like spirit —apropos because the independently owned property, rife with music motifs, was named after beloved singer-songwriter Townes Van Zandt. Sixteen stories high, the hotel embodies Austin’s lust for music, manifesting with a vinyl corner; trumpet chandeliers; myriad musical references; replica vintage posters in frames; and its own live music venue, which doubles as its acclaimed restaurant, Geraldine’s. Don’t miss the mesmerizing installation of colorful origami-like birds composed from vinyl records that flitter from an old phonograph.
