More Live Music in Philly
In my last post, I shared my experience at MilkBoy seeing Echo Kid, and I am continuing the live music trend with this post, as well. I had an incredible night seeing Noah Richardson at Underground Arts in Philly. I discovered Noah through TikTok (cringe, but so worth it), when I heard his song “Tangerine” for the first time. As I write this, it is also Spotify Wrapped release day, and I can see I listened to “Tangerine” and “My Turn” off Noah’s EP It’s So Good To See You 32 times this year. I met my friends after work at Gaul & Co. Malt House in Rockledge. We took a seat at the bar and rushed to order espresso martinis and some food before the bus left. While we were chatting, a girl from across the bar asked if we were going to the show and let us know she and her friends were there for the concert, as well. What was so cool about this show in particular is Noah and his team arranged for a bus to pick people up from the restaurant and take us to the venue together. On the ride there, we also passed his family’s funeral home, where Noah used to record in the basement.

Echo Kid at Milkboy
As many people did, I recognized how spoiled I was with live music experiences as soon as they were taken away during COVID-19. Ever since the outbreak, I’ve been trying to make a greater effort to participate in the local music scene. I knew Echo Kid was going to perform at Milkboy in Philly this month, so I got two of my friends to come with me to the show. As New Jersey residents, we are no strangers to the PATCO train and made our way into the city for the night.
