A culinary staple in Philadelphia since the 19^th century, Reading Terminal Market is home to more than 80 merchants selling local produce, fresh meat, handmade crafts, clothing and beautiful flowers, as well as several sit-down spots serving city favorites such as cheesesteaks, pretzels and hoagies. Hungry for a warm, filling lunch, I ventured out to the city’s historic public market, housed near the Pennsylvania Convention Center and City Hall, this past weekend to stroll through the expansive food bazaar. Stymied by so many mouth-watering options, ranging from authentic cheesesteaks to traditional Pennsylvania Dutch fare, we went with our noses and opted to sit down at Tommy DiNic’s to enjoy the eatery’s legendary roast pork sandwich. The delectable sandwich lived up to all the hype, including juicy roast pork, broccoli rabe, freshly shaved provolone and hot peppers. We worked off our lunch ambling through the market, watching cannolis get filled with fluffy ricotta at Termini Bros, ogling fresh produce and flowers and stopping for coffee and take-home souvenirs at Flying Monkey Bakery, creator of Philadelphia’s best whoopie pie, according to Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly 2014 issue. Open seven days a week  8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on Sunday, Philadelphia’s iconic Reading Terminal Market is a must-visit attraction on the city’s tourist trail. — Monique Barrett, eFlyer editor/associate editor
