I am doing something I really don’t believe in doing — picking up people at the airport. I have felt strongly about this for many years and I guess it stems from my younger days when my family was forced to wait hours for me when I was on delayed flights. I decided then it was just better to drive oneself rather than getting a ride. You “greenies” must agree as it is one less back-and-forth in a car, and if public transportation works, well then even better! If you take a trip to JFK, then you will see what I mean — hordes of people and their extended families waiting to pick up a person and choking the arrivals and confusing the system. It is an absolute mess! I have to go to the airport today anyway to pick up a shipment we are expecting from American Airlines. So it is really not a big deal for me to go and pick up our distribution gurus from Chicago — the Blog-Famous John Wroblewski and his sidekick, Louis Atsaves. John and I go way back to time I spent in Chicago as a newspaper representative. We have never lost touch in over 20 years and when I planned to launch Global Traveler, I immediately included John.
