It might be mid-January already, but the cold month right after Christmas leaves me missing the lights and festivities of December. Before Christmas I went to a house a short drive from me to see some of the best Christmas lights you’ll ever find in front of someone’s home.

This home has continued to draw people from around the city for years, with more and more people coming each year. I would know — my best friend lives just up the road, and I remember each year, ever since I was young, driving by and seeing an increasing number of cars and visitors flocking to the massive lights display. I can definitively say this past year was the largest one yet.

The house sits on a vast piece of land, leaving plenty of room for walkways, blow-up installations, lights and music. The display has become so popular, cars line the narrow road and park in impromptu spots just to experience it.

The best part? Each year is different. The owners always finds new ways to redesign the yard. This year they added some fun ornaments you can walk through for photos. My favorites are always the dangling balls of light that look like massive droplets hanging from oak trees above.

The kids love it, but anyone who enjoys a good and free holiday light display also comes here. I do always wonder, though, how the owners manage the electricity bill!
