Global Traveler’s trips to Miami never disappoint — especially when I am able to call InterContinental Miami home for a few days.

This was my second time staying at the property, and it was equally as refreshing as the last.

My flight from Philadelphia landed in Miami early Sunday afternoon. After settling into our respective rooms, my colleague Mary and I grabbed two seats at Bluewater Poolside Bar, offering gorgeous views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

Indulging in a fresh tuna poke bowl and a Hugo spritz was just the welcome I needed after a long morning of travel. I spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the hotel, wishing I had extended my trip to enjoy the private oceanfront cabanas, sunbathing garden and relaxing spa.

When I wasn’t wandering around the property, you could find me lounging in my room, catching up on emails and enjoying the free access to HBO Max.

I think my favorite aspect of the hotel was the built-in, remote-control curtain tracker which created the perfect blackout scenario for much-needed rest that night.

Setting the bar high each time, I am already looking forward to my next stay.
