Where do you go when looking for the freshest meals and produce? There is only one place that can meet all of your needs: the local farmers market.
I have lived in Bucks County for a while now. I have seen restaurants and stores come and go, but one thing remains constant: the Newtown Farmers Market. Situated in the heart of downtown Newtown, Pa., the Farmers Market is open Thursday–Sunday and offers a variety of options from seafood to barbecue.
A co-worker and I recently went to lunch at the farmers market and took a look around. A pretzel stall, fresh seafood market, a barbecue pit and gyro shop are just a few of the options.. The many dairy, meat and produce sections scattered around the building provide eye candy while walking the aisles.
I decided to grab a pretzel from the stand, and I can say with 100 percent certainty this was the best soft pretzel I’ve ever had. After the pretzel, I decided to get my entrée from the seafood market. Being a seafood snob, I was hesitant to go with the clam strips and lobster bisque, but I let curiosity get the best of me and ordered both.
Unfortunately, the bisque was not the best I’ve had, and the clam strips came pre-breaded, a downside, but overall the food was palatable. Trying new cuisine and seeing new things make up half of the dining experience.
