Business in Mexico City

by Carly Allen

Mar 21, 2017

I arrived in Mexico City on a beautiful March day with a light breeze and 75-degree weather. You can’t ask for a better day.

The St. Regis offers a car service from the airport, which is convenient and worth the money. Uber is also an option for transportation throughout the city.

The St. Regis is located in the heart of the business district and sits right on Paseo del Reforma, one of the main roads in the city. Upon arrival, the doormen were friendly and immediately took our bags and showed us to the third floor, which holds the main lobby, reception and restaurants. I was offered a cool refreshment during check-in and was shown to my room.

My executive suite was beautiful with plenty of seating. The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room provided natural light and included a couch and a six-person table. The room also boasted a hidden flat-screen TV, bar area and guest bathroom.

The bedroom’s large windows basked the king-size bed and lounge chairs in the sunlight. The marbled bathroom included his-and-her sinks and vanities on either side and a large, welcoming bathtub. The stand-alone shower, however, did not provide the best light.unnamedunnamed-1

Here are three of my can’t-miss experiences for the hotel:

  1.  Remede Spa: I have been to many hotel spas, and this tops the list. My 90-minute massage was perfection and went along with a full body scrub, which was a perfect ending to my day of travel. The space was modern and had a great combination of natural light in the locker room, with a small yet nicely appointed waiting room with natural snacks and fruit-infused water — a must-try!
  1. The Gym: The view from the front line of cardio machines is a great way to work out, especially at sunrise. The gym boasts a Pilates room, juice bar and a beautiful indoor pool with lanterns and lounge chairs in front of floor-to-ceiling glass windows. unnamed-3
  1. King Cole Bar: This classy bar offers signature cocktails — try the tequila bloody Mary — and offers a large outdoor seating space overlooking the Diana Fountain. It’s a very nice venue for cocktails after business meetings.unnamed-2

I’m looking forward to coming back again soon!
