This past weekend I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday with some wonderful friends and family. On Sunday my parents took me out for a delicious dinner at Adelina’s Restaurant & Bar in Chestnut Hill. I have lived in the area for quite some time now, and Adelina’s is one of the newer additions to the neighborhood’s restaurant scene. Since I had heard such good things, I figured this would be the perfect time to put it to the test, and I am so glad we did.
Upon walking through the front door, we were met by nothing but smiles. Everyone was so friendly, and we had nothing but good things to say about the service and staff. It was a beautiful evening weather-wise, so we requested to sit by the window to enjoy the sunshine. Once settled, I ordered an Aperol- and rye-based cocktail. It wasn’t necessarily my thing; however, my mom ordered a variation of a Gin Fizz that was delicious.
For appetizers we shared an order of the mussels and the eggplant fritters, both really tasty and, unfortunately, unphotographed. Our entrées were delicious, as well. I ordered the fusilloni pasta, which consisted of filet, mushrooms, shaved black truffles and Pecorino Romano cheese. As a truffle fan, this was one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in a while. Although I was stuffed, my family insisted on sharing a dessert of espresso crème brûlée to celebrate the day. I am glad we did, as this was just as great as the rest of the meal.
After dinner we made our way home and could not stop raving about how good everything was, excited that another great restaurant made its way to the Chestnut Hill scene. Adelina’s was a great experience, and I am sure we’ll be back. I hear its brunch is just as enjoyable.

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.
