I’m out in Los Angeles to play a little golf with good clients at Robinson’s Ranch. Attendees include management from Singapore Airlines, Asiana Airlines and EVA Air. On my American Airlines flight from Philadelphia (to LAX via DFW), I was honored to sit with an Air Force linguistics specialist on her journey back to her base.  Without giving too much information, I can tell you that she is learning Arabic, which is highly needed in the  current campaigns in the Middle East. American Airlines has made an effort to make sure that these traveling military personnel are as comfortable as possible when traveling.  On this particular flight, this airman was moved to first class.  The flight attendant and I made room in the overhead bin and shifted bags around to accommodate her backpack. I know we have run an advertorial explaining AA’s program, and this is really a worthwhile deal. It was nice speaking to her and learning her interesting journey that took her from being a “military wife” to enlisting herself.  She has enjoyed invaluable experience and really loves the Air Force.  It was uplifting to speak to her.
