Great and exciting news in eFlyer Asia last week! For those of you on the east coast of the United States, Hawaiian Airlines will be adding daily non-stop flights from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Honolulu International Airport (HNL) on June 5, 2012 (the flight starts on June 4 from Hawaii to JFK).
On the East Coast, we have been landlocked for some time, and this is a welcome change. The only other non-stop flight from the area that I am aware of is the Continental Airlines (United) flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).
This is great news for New Yorkers who want to experience the Polynesian and Aloha spirit long known in these islands. This has been a debate I have had with my colleagues in Hawaii, reaching out to the east for more travelers to Hawaii (which they have needed for years).
From Honolulu, one could spend a few days enjoying some R&R and continue on for a business trip to Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia, American Samoa and Tahiti. Hawaiian connects to all the Hawaiian Islands as well.
