On October 12 I was invited by China Southern Airlines to see their A380 inaugural flight land at LAX. It was a cool evening and the sun was just about to set when we saw the plane beginning to land. For the event, a limited number of press were given a special pass to be on the actual tarmac to take some pictures. I was there and was able to see the tradition of the water salute, but more than anything I was able to see the pride and accomplishment from the team members at China Southern.
The A380 is a great aircraft to have in any fleet. The A380 is the largest passenger aircraft in world and one of the most advanced in its class. This A380 will be able to go non-stop from LAX to Guangzhou, making it easier then ever for business travelers to reach China in comfort.
With more and more international carriers committing to bringing new state-of-the-art aircraft to Los Angeles routes, I am liking long-haul flights more than ever.
