Last week, I had the pleasure of attending our annual GT Tested Awards in Beverly Hills. Our awards program was a wonderful event, and I felt so thankful to experience it for the first time this year. I was also very thankful to stay at SLS Beverly Hills while in Los Angeles. I have stayed at several different Starwood properties, but the SLS in Beverly Hills had a unique, modern vibe all its own.

Upon check-in, I was warmly greeted by staff, and the check-in process was quick and painless. I checked in a bit early, and they put a rush on the housekeeping inspection for me. In the meantime, Christian, who was genuinely friendly and helpful, stored my luggage for me and directed me to check out the pool until my room was ready. I went up to the sixth floor and walked around the pool area, which really felt more like an outdoor living room. It was a beautiful, sunny day; and if I had more time there, I could see myself relaxing by the pool and enjoying the city view. I decided to head down to the fourth floor and take a peek at the gym and the Ciel spa. The gym was spacious, and all of the life fitness equipment appeared to be brand new. The spa was very open, and the all-white entry way definitely smelled like relaxation was taking place inside.

My room was upgraded to a suite, and I have to say I always appreciate that perk of being a Starwood Preferred Guest. I was very impressed with the amount of storage space in the room. I think there was more closet and drawer space than I have in my N.Y.C. apartment. The other highlights of the room were the comfortable bed, large bathroom and the entertainment center (there was a funky glass overlay on the flat-screen TV). There was a desk area behind the bed and a separate table that could also be used as workspace.

The lobby of the hotel was very hip, and I did happen to have a few celebrity sightings. I heard amazing things about the restaurant; and if I make a trip back to the hotel, I will be sure to check it out. I hope I can get back to the SLS in Beverly Hills again soon because my stay there was fabulous.
