Aircraft seat designers B/E Aerospace introduced a new business-class cabin concept that aims to take in-flight productivity to a new level.
Called the Breakout, the innovative design features a flexible seating area that caters to a variety of needs. Each suite offers a corner office, including a desk space, swivel chair and built-in AC and USB sockets, making it easier for travelers to work at 30,000 feet.
On the other side of the suite, a lounging area features a wide, comfortable seat for travelers to enjoy during take-off and landing. When it comes time to sleep, the wide seat folds back and allows a fully flat bed to emerge from the suite’s side walls. Other comfortable amenities include stowage for carry-on baggage and an ottoman to function as a footrest or a space for a friend to sit for a conversation, drink or meal.
“The customer can get out of their seat, move around and is not restricted to the same, small surface where meals are taken,” said Glenn Johnson, director, B/E Aerospace’s Advanced Design Group. “There is 35 percent more space in which to place things.”
B/E Aerospace is set to launch the new design next year for the Boeing 777 family.
