With Earth Day right around the corner, destinations all over the world aim to highlight and improve sustainability efforts. Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, the leading all-inclusive hotel brand in Mexico, the Caribbean and Spain, joins in on the Earth Day celebration. The hotel brand will show its commitment to the planet and showcase its ongoing goal of becoming a benchmark for sustainable development in the industry.

This is because, throughout the years, the hospitality industry has faced several challenges that have led its members to double their efforts in search of a balanced synergy between economic wealth and environmental sustainability. Therefore, our goal is to continue promoting sustainability through viable actions, and that’s why we celebrate Earth Hour as proof of our commitment to future generations.”
When sustainability became important in hospitality, Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts incorporated environmental, social and good governance practices within all its decisions and projects. In 2014, the company launched its first official CSR Management Program, which later became an essential element of the sustainability plan for Grupo Piñero.
Since the new guidelines, the company implemented different actions to assure stability between business and care for the environment. Bahia Principe planted more than 3,000 trees for the International Day Against Climate Change. The Eco-Bahia foundation released more than 110,000 sea turtle hatchlings back to the ocean. The brand also added more than 101 electric vehicles to its fleet and tripled its environmental investment since 2019.
Other important actions include the rescue and assistance of more than 1,000 wild animals, including reptiles, bees, wasps and mammals, as well as planting more than 12,000 native and endemic plants around the properties.
Recently, Grupo Piñero has promoted ecological awareness, with campaigns throughout its 27 properties. The We are Ecocentric campaign invites guests and stakeholders to embrace the eco-friendly attitude and approach. The campaign promotes the company’s past efforts to protect nature as well as share tips and initiatives to help others become more aware of their surroundings.
