Baha Mar, an integrated luxury resort in Nassau, The Bahamas, recently announced the first The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival. Slated to take place at Baha Mar, Oct. 21–23, the resort further establishes itself as the premier culinary and art destination in the Caribbean.
“We are thrilled to debut The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Festival at Baha Mar, which will highlight the resort as the culinary, art and cultural destination of choice within the Caribbean,” said Graeme Davis, president, Baha Mar. “This premiere event will allow us to showcase the extraordinary culinarians, as well as artistic creativity found both at Baha Mar and throughout The Bahamas joined by international guest stars. We envision this festival becoming the leading celebration of food and art in the region, providing locals and visitors with the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the island’s rich culture and gastronomic offerings.”
With internationally renowned chefs like Marcus Samuelsson of Marcus at Baha Mar Fish + Chop House, Daniel Boulud of Café Boulud and Dario Cecchini of Carna headlining the three-day festival, guests will be treated to an array of delicious dishes from around the world. TV personality and culinary expert Amanda Freitag joins author and restauranteur Carla Hall and Bahamian culinary artisan Simeon Hall Jr. to kick off the highly anticipated event.
Beginning Oct. 21, the event begins with a welcome party hosted by Marcus Samuelsson. Following the first day, guests embark on a two-day journey through the culinary and arts world. In addition to interactive cooking demonstrations led by Baha Mar’s top talent and guest chefs, the event also features new exhibitions from local artisans in partnership with The Current Gallery and Art Center. John Knox, Baha Mar’s executive director of arts and culture, curates The Current.
The event also includes a grand dine-around, showcasing the best of The Bahamas and Baha Mar’s more than 45 beloved restaurants, bars and cafés. Each headlining chef will host exclusive, interactive experiences, the details of which will be announced later in the summer. The event ends Oct. 23 with a special ticketed event for a memorable al fresco dining experience with the festival’s participating chefs and artists on Long Cay, the resort’s private island hideaway.
“I’m so honored to be part of this monumental event, taking place at one of my favorite destinations, Baha Mar,” said chef Marcus Samuelsson. “We’ve set the stage for a truly unforgettable festival, and myself, alongside my colleagues and friends, are excited to continue highlighting the local culinary scene, matched with unique Bahamian art and culture.”
Tickets for the festival are now on sale, priced upon experience. Ranging $79–499, the $499 ticket provides guests with an all-inclusive Festival Weekend Pass, featuring access to flagship events and early access to some of the most exclusive and intimate chef experiences. The Festival Weekend Pass also comes with a premium welcome gift upon arrival, entry to The Bahamas Culinary & Arts Expo on Saturday and Sunday, and admission to the Sundown & Sips party, Welcome Beach Party and Grand Dine-Around.

Mar 27, 2024Hyatt Regency Chicago Unveils Renovations This Spring
Half a century ago, several architecturally significant buildings not only changed the face of Chicago but also reintroduced the city as a world-class travel destination. Roughly a year after the Sears Tower (now Willis Tower) emerged as the then world’s tallest building, Hyatt Regency Chicago opened its doors in August 1974. A second tower was constructed in 1980, making it one of the most ambitious hotels the city had seen, down to its above-ground skyway and underground concourse.
