Avis Preferred customers renting from Avis airport locations around the country can enjoy an easier way to rent. In an industry first, Avis released an app allowing customers to control nearly every detail of their rental, eliminating the need for paperwork, long lines and other hassles. The app allows users to not only confirm, cancel and extend their rental, but also choose the car they want by viewing those available in real time with only a few swipes. The app shows the car’s exact mileage and fuel level when you pick it up for easy comparison at the time of return. Once out and about, users can lock, unlock or even flash the rental car’s lights straight from their phone. The most useful app feature is the drop-and-go capabilities, so busy travelers can return their car with no assistance whatsoever. Just return the car to the rental lot, follow a few steps on the app and then go.
