Centrally located in Madrid, the new VP Plaza España Design Hotel was conceived and created with a strong design philosophy developed by a number of leading Spanish artists. Works by artists Pere Gifre, Dario Urzay, Fernando Palacios, Nacho Zubelzu, Veronica Domingo, Héléne Bergaz, Patricia San Juan, Marre and Jan Hendrix number among the pieces that contribute to the design hotel concept.

Artist Pere Gifre created the eight-story waterfall gracing the atrium, imbuing the space with a mood of serenity from the moment guests enter. In the lobby, guests will find paintings by artist Bilbao Dario Urzay that explore the realm of communication, while corridors and select guestrooms feature 3-D works by painter and sculptor Fernando Palacios.

Elsewhere, collages by Nacho Zubelzu can be enjoyed in the bar and lobby area bathrooms, as well as in front of the hotel elevators where the mural “Buscando a un hombre” is prominently displayed. In suites, paintings created with India ink by artist Verónica Domingo meld elements of Asian art and calligraphy. In other areas, Madrid native Héléne Bergaz was the creative force behind guestroom art that bears her signature photographic montages featuring meteorites.
