American Express Travel is giving cardholders more options for luxury stays worldwide. The brand is adding 281 new properties to its Fine Hotels & Resorts and The Hotel Collection programs. New properties are chosen through a thorough application and assessment process, so cardholders can expect only the best in service and amenities. “Our card members are avid travelers who expect a certain travel experience, whether they’re on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure trip, or a spontaneous weekend getaway in a nearby city. To ensure we’re exceeding their expectations and offering the very best selection of hotels in our programs, we carefully analyze aggregated card spend data, independent property evaluations, and most importantly, the direct feedback we receive from our card members,” said Allison Beer, vice president, strategic partnerships, American Express Travel. The Fine Hotels & Resorts program added four new destinations to its array of options, including Mendoza, Bogota, Fes and Algarve. The most popular property additions thus far include the Miami Beach Edition, Zero George Street and Eden Rock — St Barths. The program is also splitting properties into new, more helpful categories to help travelers instantly find the types of accommodations they’re looking for — boutique, designer and card member favorites. When cardholders stay at a Fine Hotels & Resorts property, they receive late check-out, room upgrades as available, daily breakfast for two, early check-in as available, complimentary WiFi and a complimentary amenity unique to the property. The Hotel Collection is currently seeing immense growth, with cardholder bookings growing by 300 percent in the first quarter of 2016. The program features top properties in the most popular destinations. This year, new amenities guests can expect include a $75 hotel credit, room upgrades as available, double membership reward points and the ability to pay for their stay with membership reward points. New properties for 2016 include Thompson Playa del Carmen, The Muse New York a Kimpton Hotel and Boscolo Excedra Roma. “For our card members, choice is king. Whether they’re looking for an affordable option for a trip with the kids or a more lavish stay for an anniversary, we’re continuing to build our lodging programs to meet the needs of their diverse travel experiences,” said Beer.
