Just in time for Thanksgiving, American Airlines announces it has entered into an exclusive partnership with the James Beard Foundation. The exclusive, multi-year partnership will bring menus from the foundation’s portfolio of chefs to life in American lounges and aircraft.
The partnership is the latest step American Airlines has taken to prove its dedication toward improving its premium product. The foundation’s roster of chefs look to begin making American cuisine their own soon after the partnership begins. Beginning Dec. 3, the new options will be available in Flagship lounges. Flagship First and Flagship Business will get the new options Dec. 11 on flights from the United States to Europe.
On Flagship First, new options include Grilled Roman-tyle artichokes, Mushroom Bolognese and more. In lounges, the new options incluse a Tuscan Kale Salad. The initial changes come from chef Sarah Grueneberg, a former contestant on Top Chef.
“The ability to provide Flagship travelers with a small taste of Monteverde is an extraordinary opportunity, and I’m truly humbled to be the first chef chosen to bring this collaboration between the James Beard Foundation and American Airlines to life,” said Chef Grueneberg.
Grueneberg received her James Beard Award in 2017 after earning the distinction of the Best Chef: Great Lakes.
“We couldn’t be more pleased to launch our exclusive partnership with American,” said Kris Moon, chief operating officer, James Beard Foundation. The partnership means American Airlines will take part in various events put on by the foundation throughout the year, including Taste America, a pop-up dining experience throughout 20 cities across the country.
