AmaWaterways resumed operations in Europe on July 21 with a series of charter sailings on AmaKristina in Germany with local guests. New and enhanced health and safety protocols have been implemented onboard.

Some of the new protocols include pre-boarding health questionnaires, daily temperature checks for guests and crew, a designated Public Health Officer on each ship, a limited capacity of 100 guests, face masks at all times for the crew and guest masks when moving about the ship. The restaurants accommodate social distancing requirements, and guests will be given personal, portable commentary systems to allow guests to hear guides while social distancing on included, small group excursions, many outdoors. A fan coil individual air cooling and heating units eliminate recirculation of air in staterooms and public areas. Some public areas may also include plexiglass dividers.
