The current partnership between EL AL Israel Airlines and Alaska Airlines is growing to include a shared frequent-flyer program. The agreement previously featured codeshares between the airlines.
The agreements mean travelers will be able to fly from the Western United States to Israel without changing partner airlines. The entire trip will also earn miles. Miles flown with EL AL count toward elite status with Alaska’s Mileage Plan program. EL AL travelers will also be able to redeem points to book Alaska Airlines flights in the future.
“Alaska Airlines and EL AL will now offer more opportunities than ever before for travelers to fly nonstop between the West Coast and Tel Aviv. Through our partnership, both EL AL and Alaska Airlines offer frequent flyer benefits to our guests while sharing the genuine, caring service that is at the heart of both of our airlines,” said Brad Tilden, CEO, Alaska Airlines.
By June, Alaska Airlines will offer more than 80 partner flights each week out of San Francisco International Airport.
