Aer Lingus announced the redesign of its uniforms worn by its cabin crew and frontline ground agents.
The airline’s current uniforms, featuring teal green colors, first launched in 1998 and were created by Irish fashion designer Louise Kennedy. She has been commissioned again for the revamp.
Aer Lingus said it collected “extensive feedback” from staff to get their views on the current uniform and to “discuss what the new uniform should address in terms of frontline ground agents and cabin crews’ needs in today’s working environment.”
Green has been the primary color of the uniforms for 70 years, says Mike Rutter, chief operating officer, Aer Lingus. “The Aer Lingus uniform is the very fabric of our brand and together with the shamrock on the tailfins instantly depicts our rich history and gives our guests a warm sense of Ireland and Irish hospitality.”

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
