Beginning and ending in St. John’s, Adventure Canada’s Newfoundland Circumnavigation trip offers a chance to explore and experience the province’s people, landscapes, wildlife and history.

Experiences include local storytelling and folk art; a Mi’kmaq welcome at Miawpukek First Nation; time in Gros Morne National Park; a taste of the fine wine and cuisine of North America’s last French colony, the island of Saint-Pierre; and the Viking history of L’Anse aux Meadows on the Great Northern Peninsula.
While cruising the coastline of Newfoundland, guests visit picturesque villages while learning about Viking archaeology, an important part of the region’s history experienced by walking through reconstructed Viking habitations at L’Anse aux Meadows, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the only authenticated Norse settlement in North America. Other days bring additional explorations, including learning about Basque whaling history or the native Mi’kmaw culture, with several hikes along the scenic coastlines and remote landscapes.

Canadian destinations on the itinerary include Gros Morne, where the Earth’s mantle protrudes through the crust; Red Bay, where Basque whalers once plied their trade; L’Anse aux Meadows, where Vikings established a base; Miawpukek First Nation, where a thriving community offers a warm welcome; and the French island of Saint-Pierre, which provides a taste of Europe.

Feb 8, 2025Fort Lauderdale’s New Pier Sixty-Six Wows Waterside
Since the 1960s, a multi-spired tower and erstwhile hotel, part of a fuel dock owned by the Phillips 66 petroleum company, dominated a stretch of Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal waterfront as the skyline’s most iconic — if quirky — landmark. But in January 2025, with the unveiling of a new resort at the heart of a $1 billion redevelopment project here, Pier Sixty-Six and its mid-century masterpiece tower were reborn as a waterfront destination, remaking the beloved neighborhood just blocks from the beach. The 32-acre project features a luxury resort and residences; multiple waterfront culinary venues (with more rolling out throughout 2025); and a world-class mega-yacht marina befitting of the title “Yachting Capital of the World,” complete with 164 deepwater slips for yachts up to 400 feet long.

Feb 6, 2025The Magic of Waterfalls: Discover the World’s Most Iconic and Unique Falls
They come in all shapes and sizes. Some are torrential and loud, dumping thousands of gallons of water per second, sending mist hundreds of feet up into the air as water soars over a mountain or cliff edge. Others are more delicate, like a long trickle down smooth rock, creating a vast and mesmerizing maze of trails before pooling below. Whatever the type, waterfalls have awed us for thousands of years — and for good reason.
