Casa Velas, an adults-only boutique hotel on Marina Vallarta Golf Course in Puerto Vallarta, launched a distinctive new offering that reframes the traditional vacation photoshoot.
Rather than limiting photography experiences to resort grounds, Casa Velas’s Hidden Puerto Vallarta Photography Tour escorts guests directly into the vibrant heart of the city alongside a professional local photographer. The result is a curated visual narrative capturing not just the traveler, but also the character, color and culture of Puerto Vallarta itself.

The tour moves through some of the city’s most emblematic settings, including the cobblestone streets surrounding Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, artisan stalls and textures of Isla del Río Cuale, hidden alleyways alive with color and charm, striking urban murals that lend a contemporary artistic dimension, and the architectural drama of Los Muertos Pier at sunset.
Guests are invited to select one signature location or combine several iconic spots across downtown for a richer, more layered session. Each location offers a dynamic contrast, sharing historic architecture alongside vibrant street life, such as traditional craft markets beside modern public art to produce photographs that feel editorial, original and deeply rooted in the destination. Guests return home not simply with a beach portrait, but with imagery that tells the story of a place.

The Hidden Puerto Vallarta Photography Tour starts at $1,300 for up to eight guests. A private round-trip transfer to and from downtown Puerto Vallarta is included.
Reminiscent of a Spanish hacienda, Casa Velas features 80 spacious suites, some with private pools and Jacuzzis. Nestled on the greens of Marina Vallarta’s 18-hole golf course, the hotel offers guests a 25 percent discount on green fees.
Casa Velas guests have beach access at Táu Beach Club, a relaxed atmosphere overlooking the ocean with infinity pool, delectable cuisine and event space. ABJA Spa encompasses treatment rooms for singles and couples, a hydrotherapy area, garden-view fitness center, and a beauty salon. Emiliano restaurant is in the hands of one of the area’s leading chefs, serving Mexican and international cuisine.
