Surrounded by 40 acres of olive groves and lush forestland, Borgo dei Conti Resort officially opens in the hills of Umbria, Italy. The resort transports guests back to the Italian Renaissance with the use of rich color palettes inspired by painters like Pietro Perugino and Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino. Traditional architecture dating back to the 19th century is paired with modern furnishings across the 40 guestrooms and suites.

Suites like the Count’s Suite boast a king-sized bed, minibar, deep-soaking tub, WiFi and more. The Contessa Family Suite, meanwhile, has space for up to four guests and features a historic, cast-iron fireplaces dating back to the 17th century and an exclusive living area in the historical library of the resort. This suite also includes a balcony overlooking the Lebanese cedars in the main square.
The resort is also home to several restaurants and bars. At Cedri Restaurant, authentic, fine dining is at the forefront, showcasing seasonal, raw materials from local producers and the resort’s garden. Contemporary gastronomy meets Umbria culinary art at Osteria del Borgo, combining flavors of Mediterranean cuisine with international twists. And for a drink, the Lounge Bar serves up both signature cocktails and timeless classics.

The spa also includes the Salt Room and a Sensory Deprivation area. Upstairs, spend time in the outdoor relaxation area and heated pool.

While cooler and milder weather in Los Angeles means a pleasanter travel experience (particularly for a Floridian accustomed to humid summer heat), the drier weather also often means lingering and visual effects on the skin, something I began to feel the moment I stepped off my plane in the City of Angels. Low humidity and winter weather might be great for my hair, but my skin was tired and dry and eager for some much- needed nourishment and hydration.
