A Culinary Experience

Rosewood Mayakoba, located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, announced its latest culinary endeavor with the launch of La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen, a 20,000-square-foot outdoor dining concept. The culinary outlet is designed as an interactive environment for cooking demonstrations, tastings and foraging activities. Only food cooked over an open flame, in accordance with Mayan tradition, will be served.

The on-site garden features staples including passion fruit, cucumbers, tomatoes, spring onions, chives, guava, pithaya, mango and multiple varieties of chiles, as well as various herbs. The innovative menu changes frequently, highlighting both classic and modern Mexican dishes.

Another unique feature of La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen is the Garden Mixologist, an on-property expert who directs the seasonal cocktail program. The resort is also macerating its tequilas in-house with fresh herbs and flavors.

The debut coincides with the hotel’s Sense of Taste program, encouraging guests to take a culinary journey into the traditions of the Riviera Maya. Epicurean Encounters are a range of experiences that bring guests to nearby farms and to visit local artisans.

La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen is open three times a week from 6–10:30 p.m., and is available for private events.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
