After a two-year design process, new Alaska Airlines uniforms by designer Luly Yang debut at a fashion show hosted in the company’s Seattle-Tacoma International Airport hangar.

The look takes styling cues from the uniforms of Virgin America, acquired by Alaska Airlines in December 2016.

The collection includes 90 garments to be worn by the 19,000 Alaska, Virgin America and Horizon Air employees. The roll out is expected in late 2019, after the uniforms undergo 60-day staff trials.

“Luly’s designs perfectly capture our fresh, West Coast vibe and we’re absolutely thrilled with the collection,” said Sangita Woerner, vice president of marketing, Alaska Airlines. “Like our refreshed brand, launched in early 2016, our new uniform collection includes bright pops of color, clean lines and stunning finishes, creating a stylish yet approachable look.”

According to designer Yang, “What you see on the runway is actually a combination of the two cultures, Alaska and Virgin, coming together. We combine them to make something new and fresh and better than it was before.”
