One of the most sought-after restaurants in the New York City area isn’t located on the Upper or Lower East Side but at Newark Liberty International Airport.
Helmed by James Beard Award-winning chef Nate Appleman, restaurant company OTG partnered with United Airlines to create a highly exclusive, speakeasy-style, fine-dining restaurant in a mostly forgotten meeting room in Terminal C.
Classified is an invite-only culinary venue, capable of accommodating 36 people at a time. The food and wine (which will cost you upwards of $100 per person for food alone) rival the trendiest New York City hot spots.
Rick Blatstein, CEO, OTG, told CBS News, “We wanted to create a really unique space that’s kind of out of the way, little bit of speakeasy … but somewhere where you can just enjoy a great meal, listen to some nice music, have a delicious glass of wine, take it easy, get yourself away from everything else.”
Visited by celebrities, CEOs and the like, an email invitation is your ticket inside. You can also request an invitation, but the waitlist length, like the restaurant’s name, is classified.
