Hilton’s upper upscale hotel brand Curio had a busy summer adding to its collection of remarkable properties, known for unique character and personality.
The collection welcomed its first hotel in the United Kingdom with the opening of The Trafalgar St. James. Nestled in the heart of Central London on the south side of Trafalgar Square, the hotel boasts proximity to some of the city’s most iconic attractions, including The National Gallery and Theatreland. The hotel offers 131 guestrooms and 15 suites, each featuring an Art Deco design, bold color choices and bespoke furnishings; a rooftop bar; all-day dining; Biblio lounge; and a 24-hour gym.
Following an extensive renovation, Aleph Rome Hotel opened this summer in Rome — Curio’s first property in the Eternal City. The 88-room, 1930s hotel is a short walk from the legendary Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Villa Borghese. The property maintains its authentic Italian charm while introducing contemporary services and amenities, including a rooftop pool; spacious guestrooms; creative dining concepts; and a late-night cocktail bar and Cognac Lounge.
The Netherlands will also receive its first Curio hotel in 2020 following the signing of The Monastery Hotel Koningsbosch. The hotel, close to the German and Belgian borders of Limburg, is a former monastery built in 1873, which will be renovated into a luxury 100-room, neo-Gothic and neo-Romanesque hotel.

Sep 17, 2026High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture
It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
