Carnival announced expansion of Carnival Journeys, its popular, longer-duration enrichment sailings. Carnival Splendor will operate a 14-day Alaska cruise round-trip from Long Beach in August 2018.
The two-week adventure visits seven Alaskan and Canadian destinations, including the breathtaking Icy Strait Point and Hubbard Glacier, featuring unspoiled wilderness, great whale and bear watching and the world’s longest zipline.
The voyage will depart Long Beach on Aug. 25, and return Sept. 28. Destinations will also include Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau and Sitka, along with a day-long call at Victoria, British Columbia.
Guests will enjoy the region’s abundant natural wonders including fjords, glaciers and native sea and animal life with a wide variety of shore excursions including helicopter sightseeing, rainforest canopy tours, hiking, canoeing, kayaking and alpine lake snorkeling
The ship features an American-style steakhouse, Cloud 9 Spa, retractable dome covering the main pool area and an impressive Seaside Theatre LED screen.
