Even though Qatar Airways just introduced service to Sydney (SYD) less than a year ago, the airline is already increasing service by 44 per cent. The increase is made possibly by the addition of an Airbus A380 aircraft to the route. Sydney is the first Qatar Airways destination in Australia to receive A380 service. “From the moment we inaugurated service to Sydney earlier this year, we have been welcomed with open arms. Customers flying to and from Sydney appreciate our global route network and our efficient flight schedules, which save them hours of time on the average itinerary. We are pleased to respond in kind, with the introduction of the A380 service to Sydney, offering 517 seats per flight,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways Group. The 517 seats are spread over two decks with eight seats in first class, 48 seats in business class and 461 seats in economy class. The first-class cabin features lie-flat seating, two-passenger dining, sleeper suits and Armani amenities. Business-class passengers enjoy private aisle access and everything needed to accomplish more during their flight. An onboard lounge is on the upper deck, for first- and business-class passengers. “Qatar Airways brings travellers from Australia to more destinations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa than any other airline serving Australia today.
