Five new hotels join Small Luxury Hotels of the World this month.

Welcoming guests in June 2016, the TOTEM Madrid offers 64 guestrooms located in the Barrio de Salamanca neighborhood. The property is within walking distance of upscale shopping, as well as museums and art galleries. Guestrooms in the historic building feature floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies.

On Mauritius, Paradise Cove Boutique Hotel is an adults-only property with 67 rooms and suites. Guests enjoy modern amenities in a traditional Mauritian atmosphere, from the cliff-top infinity pool to the private lagoon.

Diamonds Mequfi Beach Resort features 50 bungalows with ocean views, private verandas and open showers. The property’s Mvua African Rain Spa uses local ingredients in its treatments to create a unique experience in one of the beachfront cabanas. The resort is also a perfect base for island hopping.

Switzerland’s THE VIEW Lugano offers only 18 suites, each with its own terrace and personalized minibar. The property focuses on bespoke service, catering to guests’ every need, whether they include complimentary usage of a smart car to see the town or a one-of-a-kind treatment at the spa.

The Pousada de Guimarães in Portugal, once the home of monks and royalty, received the Europa Nostra prize for renovation and restoration. Guests will enjoy staying in original monk chambers or visiting the monastery kitchen for a drink, all while taking in the stone fountains, oversized fireplaces and oak ceilings.
