Fiji Airways Announces Enhanced Customer Offerings

Sep 6, 2015
Daily / Feature

Fiji Airways now offers two new customer enhancements: an online check-in feature and the ability to purchase seats with extra legroom. Online check-in is now available on all flights, and seats with extra legroom on select international flights.

Customers can conveniently check-in online using a simple, user-friendly interface. Check-in opens 24 hours before flight time, and closes four hours prior to departure. After completing, customers can print their boarding passes and stop at the Express Bag Drop Counter to drop any checked luggage before clearing security and immigration. The service is also available to groups traveling together.

On select international flights, travelers can purchase seats with added legroom. Exit row or bulkhead seating will cost $59 on short- and medium-haul flights, and $99 for long-haul flights.

Founded in 1951, Fiji Airways has a fleet of new wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft and refreshed Boeing 737 airplanes. Fiji Airways and Fiji Link serve 48 destinations in 12 countries, including codeshare flights, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Hong Kong, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu, Kirbati, Vanuatu and Solomon Islands. The airline re-branded from Air Pacific in 2013.

Fiji Airways’ customers who have already checked in online can purchase seats with extra legroom at the Service Desk Counter.

“We recognize our customers’ needs for seamless and convenient travel options and are undertaking various steps to enhance their experience,” said David Bowden, acting CEO, Fiji Airways. “The online check-in service will offer customers the flexibility and comfort of checking in from their home or office, saving them time and enabling them to avoid airport queues.”

Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley

Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. While they launched the original Scratch Kitchen in 2013, an expired lease prompted them to relocate to an unassuming strip mall in suburban Encino in 2015 and rename it Scratch Bar & Kitchen. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
