According to a Hotels.com survey, free WiFi is the favorite hotel amenity for both leisure and business travelers in the United States, with 25 percent and 49 percent, respectively, ranking it as their top selection factor when choosing a hotel. Wired hotel rooms with one remote control for multiple functions and smart device docking stations are the second and third most favorite modern in-room amenities, at 22 percent and 15 percent. Regarding their least favorite amenities, U.S. travelers cited minibars and stationery, with 24 percent saying they don’t use minibars and only 1 percent reporting they’d like to find stationery in their rooms more often. Travelers rank noise from fellow guests as their most vexing hotel annoyances, with 65 percent saying the sound bothers them. Full survey results are available online.
