It’s story time! Arizona’s Cochise County is gearing up for the 23rd Annual Cochise Cowboy Poetry & Music Gathering. From Feb. 6–8, artists, poets, storytellers and musicians from Australia, Canada and United States share their vision of what it means to live life on the range. Taking place at the Buena Performing Arts Center in Sierra Vista, this year’s theme is It’s Rodeo!
Featured artists include three-time Female Cowboy Poet of the Year Sam DeLeeuw, poet Slim Farnsworth, buckaroo balladeer Patty Clayton, Canadian writer-reciter Doris Daley, poet-musician Doug Figgs, Celtic Fusion performer Arvel Bird, singing trio Trails & Rails, and cowboy singer-songwriter Mike Moutoux of New Mexico. Winners of the Student Poetry Contest will also perform, along with end-of-day jam sessions at the Windermere Hotel.
