Iberia’s new Airbus A330 aircraft began service connecting Boston (BOS) and Madrid (MAD) on March 18.
The aircraft features Iberia’s new business- and economy-class cabins for long-haul flights with 36 business-class seats and 242 economy-class seats. The new, wider, business-class seats unfold to a fully flat bed that’s almost 80 inches long. Each seat is housed in its own module, providing direct aisle access. Lighting in the business-class cabin adjusts to each phase of the flight.
Passengers flying in Iberia’s Business Plus cabin access new, intuitive entertainment options via a 15.5-inch screen similar in size to a tablet computer. There’s also a 4.2-inch touch remote with a virtual keyboard allowing passengers to make telephone calls, send text messages and access entertainment options.
Iberia’s new economy-class cabin is equipped with an advanced in-flight entertainment system complete with individual 9-inch touch screens. Each seat offers a connection port for Apple devices and a USB port; universal power sockets are also available.
Iberia will soon be adding WiFi Internet access and SMS capability for all its long-haul customers.
