For classic luxury, Elkhart Lake, Wis. has been the stylish place to be since  the town first began hosting road races in the 1950s. These days, events take place at Road America, where a four-mile European-style track offers a combination of high-speed straights, rolling terrain and multiple turns that have earned it a reputation as one of the best road tracks in the world.

From May 17-19, vintage car buffs from around the globe will arrive for Spring Vintage Weekend — taking part in or cheering on favorites in a series of races for production cars, grand touring cars, sports racers, prototypes and formula cars. Tickets can also be purchased for on-track car touring sessions. During the weekend of June 7-9, the Vintage Motorcycle Classic will be in full swing, featuring vintage motorcycles from the 1920s through the 1970s vying for the year’s titles.

The place to stay is the lakeside Osthoff Resort in the center of town, where you can take part in classes held at the onsite cooking school, L’ecole de la Maison. Later, schedule a treatment at the historic property’s oasis-like Aspira Spa, built to utilize facets of sacred geometry, and replete with an enormous, circular meditation sanctuary.
