Japan Airlines recently announced it set the date for the introduction on its new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on its daily Los Angeles (LAX)–Tokyo (HND) route beginning June 30. The international aircraft features four cabins with all-new seats offering more privacy and comfort.

In first class, a door transforms the large suite into what feels like a hotel room for air passengers. It features an adjustable sofa that converts to a single or double bed. For the first time with these aircraft, JAL introduces fully private rooms in the business-class cabin; seats also feature built-in headrest speakers, a 24-inch monitor and other custom features. In premium economy, the special FIXBACK seat offers stress-free recline.
JAL’s A350-1000 international aircraft first entered service on the New York (JFK) to Tokyo route in January 2024. It currently also operates from Dallas Ft. Worth (DFW), London (LHR) and Paris (CDG).

As the airline strives toward a more sustainable future, it replaces its international fleet of Boeing 777-300ERs with the new A350-1000 that operate with the latest in environmental performance. So far, the carrier has taken delivery of nine of 13 of the A350-1000s.
