Who hasn’t wanted to climb inside a gorgeous painting? If you find yourself at Broadway at the Beach entertainment complex in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, before Sept. 22, you can come close to indulging the dream through the Beyond Van Gogh Immersive Experience. Sci-fi-level projection technology is used to showcase 300 works of art by Van Gogh via a 4 trillion content pixelated experience.
“Through cutting edge technology, these immersive experiences are redefining what art means to people,” said Justin Paquin, president of Exhibitions and Theatrical, Paquin Entertainment Group. “It has elevated artwork to the next level, allowing audiences to develop deeper connections with notable masterpieces that were just not possible in previous years.”
A curated soundtrack elevates the cinematic, multimedia viewing encounter with Van Gogh’s vibrant creations. Staged to include multiple components, the experience begins in the Education Room, where an exhibition of personal letters between the artist and his brother Theo can be seen. Inside the Immersion Room, visitors are surrounded by highly detailed projections of the artist’s most famous images in dream-like paintings that include Cafe Terrace at Night, The Starry Night, self portraits and works from his still-life sunflower series.
“When you stand inside these immersive experiences, you truly feel like you are part of these artists’ world,” said Fanny Curtat, art historian, Beyond Van Gogh. “Audiences are seeing a fresh and original perspective, allowing us to form new relationships with notable masterpieces in dynamic and fascinating ways.”
Produced by Paquin Entertainment Group, this stunning traveling exhibition has been making its way to select cities in North and South America. Visit the website to purchase advance tickets.
