London-based design studio SZ Design unveiled its latest project, Lily’s Restaurant & Club in Brussels, Belgium, a unique, adults-only eatery and nightclub manifesting the ambiance of the 1970s in the heart of the Belgian capital.

Having officially opened in March 2023, Lily’s has been transformed from a non-descriptive venue into an upscale dining and entertainment space with a flirtatious energy as bold as it is elegant. SZ Design developed the entire concept, creative direction and interior design. Highlights include marble-clad walls finished with mirrored clings, styled with bespoke furnishings designed and manufactured by SZ Design.

SZ Design created a new world artfully balancing a Mediterranean-style atmosphere with the glitz and glamour of the 1970s. Emulating a sophisticated and tastefully seductive aesthetic, Lily’s restaurant has a capacity of 150 seated, split into three different areas, serving both lunch and dinner, with a bar and nightclub open on the weekends. The main restaurant space features an earthy color palette of warm amber, burnt orange and rich browns, coupled with sumptuous seating and upholstered chairs, providing patrons with plenty of cozy and intimate corners. With a cocooned space with marble-clad walls, a mirrored ceiling and luxurious carpeted flooring, Lily’s takes guests on a journey back through time to the 1970s for a night of romance and revelry in the Belgian capital.

At the back of Lily’s is a spacious indoor terrace offering plush terracotta velvet seating with biscuit-colored rattan chairs and two-tone wooden tables. Huge windows envelope the space and allow vast amounts of natural light to illuminate the room, presenting the perfect lunchtime spot.

A third dining area ushers guests into the evening with heavy, olive-green drapery adorning the walls, and upholstered bouclé tub chairs, scattered across parquet wooden flooring with the mood determined by the seductive, dim lighting.

The nightclub at Lily’s presents a burlesque-inspired arrangement adorned with glamorous, Hollywood-style mirrors, corduroy velvet-textured walls and upholstered seating all in deep rust and amber tones, complete with marble-topped tables and a flash of green flora.

Lily’s presents an indulgent Mediterranean-inspired menu, which may include half-cooked tuna and foie gras with potato mousseline, pecorino cheese, hazelnuts from Piedmont and brown juice flavored with balsamic dressing; or veal chop with Béarnaise capers, chervil, tarragon, roasted tomatoes and asparagus. Lily’s drinks menu boasts an extensive selection of French, Italian and Spanish wines, as well as an adventurous list of signature cocktails curated by head mixologist Sam Bellan.

Lily’s Restaurant & Club is open for lunch Tuesday–Friday (noon–2:30 p.m.) and dinner Tuesday–Saturday (7:30–9:30 p.m.). The nightclub is in operation Thursday–Saturday (10 p.m.–2 a.m.).
